Unique Beer Places to Visit in Prague

As you might already know, Czechia is worldwide known for its beer culture. Fun fact, Czechia is a country which consumes the most beer per capita in the world; that is 161 litters of beer per person every year. 

Czechia is one of the oldest producers of beer, and is a true heaven for beer lovers due to the variety and low cost of beer offered- compared to other European countries-.

As a local in Prague, you will soon find out that **beer **is cheaper to buy than bottled water. No wonder why everyone drinks so much beer! Note that many traditional beer pubs will only serve one brand of beer; check the door signs in order to avoid disappointment in case you’d like to taste a variety of Czech beers.    

Without further ado, here are some of Prague’s favourite beer locations, where you can enjoy a great variety of Czech, but also foreign beers.

Pivovarsky Klub (the beer club)

Pivovarsky Klub is a fantastic beer pub to visit while in Prague. It has an authentic interior, with wooden shelves filled with beer bottles, high wooden tables and chairs, and of course, numerous beer barrels. The pub is well known for its extensive list of beers, which includes **250 **different bottled beers and six beers on tap, which alternate. Due to the wide variety of beer, you will come across Czech beer as well as German, Danish and Belgian. If you need to grab a bite during your beer venture, the beer club has also a restaurant attached to it, where you can enjoy traditional **Czech food. **

Zly Casy (evil times)

Zly Casy is located in Prague’s fourth district. The exact translation of the pub’s name is evil times, comforting and welcoming anyone to have a beer during rough times. In addition, the pub has a little mantra of its own saying that “good drinks will make you forget bad times”. This place is very popular amongst locals, and is rather remote from all the tourist spots. It has a sort of a "cave-like" or underground look to it, and can get very busy. Hence, if you are planning a trip to the pub with a group, it would be better to book before hand. 

Zubaty Pes (teethy dog)

Zubaty Pes, is another great place for a beer outing. This place once again specializes in various types of beer, Czech and foreign, with around sixteen beers from the tap. The owner of the place is also very knowledgeable when it comes to beer, different types, quality and fragrances. What is special about this place is that they provide you with a bit more background information when it comes to beer. This includes, beer tasting and presentations, as well as other unique events taking place on their premises.
