Thousands of tourists every year come to Azerbaijan to visit Gabala. There are many sights and beautiful scenery which attracts the tourists from all over the world. The history of Gabala is about 2000 years old. This picturesque resort region is only two and a half hours away from the capital city of Azerbaijan by car. In this article, I will share with you 3 must-see villages in Gabala, which you will never forget.

One of the largest villages of Gabala - Vendam is located 11 kilometres from the city centre. There are many attractive places for tourists here. "Duyma" health and recreation center, "Semerana", "7 gozal" hotel and 7 gozal (Seven Beauty) waterfall are located in the Vendam Village, as well as** **famous "Vedre Bazaar". It is a street market that has no scales, and a bucket is the only a unit of measure here. Here, you can find different types of fruit, vegetables, home-made cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, mountain grasses, prepared spices, fruit juices.

The Chukhur Gabala is a village in the Gabala Region of Azerbaijan. Chukhur, which means "groove" in English, has an importance in the history of Gabala. There are the castle and ruins of the ancient city and the Gabala Historical-Cultural Reserve in the village. As a result of the perennial archaeological researches here, the remains of large buildings, fortress walls, material and cultural monuments of production and crafts were discovered. The coins found during the research testify the intensive trade ties of Gabala in the 16th-17th century, with a number of countries in the world, including Iran and China. You can find them in the Gabala Archaeological Center. The three-storey building of the Gabala Archaeological Center consists of exhibition halls, archaeological foundations, restoration laboratories, conference halls and rooms where archaeologists work. About 1,500 exhibits found during the excavations are displayed at the exhibition.
The Khazra Village, which was located on the caravan route in the past, has scientific and historical significance. *The history of the village goes back to the period of the Arabic occupation of the region and spread of Islam. For this reason, the ancient religious tombs and gravestones are found in the Khazra village. *Khazra means "house, fireplace, dwelling place". The village is located 4 km from the city centre on the east of Alazan-Haftaran valley. In the village of Hazra, in the forest with about 3.5 hectares, there are different historical monuments which belong to the 16-17th century. There are three tombs in the territory of the Hazra: Sheikh Badraddin Tomb (1446); Sheikh Mansur Tomb (16th century) and The Sheikh Mohammedan tomb (15th century).
