This idea is based on the idea of «the city is our playground». In this version, it is applied to kids, and it relates to what they use their free time for. What they do in **Barcelona **is to play.

The skate version of this article is The Barcelona skate scene.

The student version is also valuable.

The parents take them out to play

The parents bring their kids to places to play. The parents *traditionally *sit on a **bench **nearby to **chill **out. Sometimes the parent actually plays with the kids, too. The parent of **Barcelona **takes part in the time that is the most fun of the kid here. They sometimes take part in play time. The parents play ball, or *hide and seek *with their children.

Barcelona invites everyone to play

It is very socially acceptable and looks natural to play as an adult** in the streets**. I haven't seen this in Norway, and I have been to a lot of parks. The parent who sits on a bench looks bored to death. The parent who plays in the park has an amazing experience. In Norway, we *focus *on the **nature **as you can see in The Lofoten article.

The scientific reason

My theory is that the **comfortable weather **and the **color of the buildings and the personality of the participants is the reason why it is so common to play in these super public places. Or maybe it is because the city is super public and open. It becomes a lifestyle.

The squares and football

The kids in **Barcelona **is playing ball in the squares They have a beach ball and takes that to Universitat plaza and plays a type of **football game **with their own rules that they made. When you play with kids you don’t have to follow the strict regime of traditional football rules. The idea is to just put four **bottles **to make **goals and then play FIFA street. There is no physical fighting in this version of football, only occasional crying.

The sculptures are for play

The kids in *Barcelona are using the sculptures as slides. You have a lot of shapes in Barcelona. The sculptures look like they are made for children *to use, and some, actually are. There’s a dragon statue next to Sants station. It has three slides on it. The kids try to run as far up on the slide as they can, and then fall and slide down. The mothers of the child also try because it is hard not to!

Hide and seek

Kids play games like hide and seek around the buildings. You have a lot of hidden pockets around the buildings in Barcelona. There are little caves that are very tempting you to make a little house out of it. Some homeless people make houses out of these pockets and kids are using them for spots to hide in the game of hide and seek. The pockets are literally hidden gems in the city.
