287 kilometres from New Delhi, some seven hours by car, there is a  cantonment and quiet hill station Kasauli that belongs to the Solan District of Himachal Pradesh in India. It is unlike any other hill station which I have ever visited - untouched and unadulterated. Since it is a cantonment, certain areas are restricted to visitors, although the pristine beauty, nature views and cleanliness are something to admire. If you are looking for a different kind of vacation in the Himalayas, then Kasauli, undoubtedly, is a quaint little town you shouldn't miss. Visit Kasauli in the Himalayas to experience its unique cultural and adventurous vibe.

For nature lovers, Kasauli is an idyllic place. Long stretches of lush greenery make the thrilling walkway, also known as the Gilbert Trail. Explore nature, explore yourself or spend some cosy time walking and talking with your loved ones amid nature's bliss - it will make for an experience of a lifetime. You can visit the trail from 6 am to 5 pm. The place is so beautiful that you would not want to leave it as it is so serene and cut-off from the noise of city life.

Wonderful sights of the valley will greet you on the Gilbert Trail. Trees engulfed by fog, numerous birds chirping along with ample of blissful peace, there is always something more to explore. Nearby is the Sunset Point, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the sun with your loved ones. Here, the time will stand still as you find yourself engrossed in the stunning natural beauty — a must-visit for photography enthusiasts.

Heritage Market and Mall Road

Walk through the dream-like Heritage Market and Mall Road, where you can find tons of things to shop for. Woollens such as caps, shawls, jackets, mufflers, cardigans, and bags etc., hand-made by locals are slightly expensive but certainly very unique pieces. Other souvenirs are also quite popular amongst locals and foreign tourists. Besides, do not miss lip-smacking Indian food, especially alloo tikkis, samosas, jalebis and street-side chai. For children, several toy shops will leave them spoilt, including exotic wooden toys made by locals.

Here in Kasauli, you can also enjoy a glass of drink at one of the oldest distilleries in Asia, established by Sir Edward Abraham Dyer in 1820s. You can also go around the plant and learn how the finest malt whiskey is prepared while relishing your drink with friends. As the highest distillery in the world, the Kasauli Brewery to this date incorporates traditional methods to produce the best drinks for the world. So, you will surely love capturing some moments from history for memories of a lifetime.

Towards the conclusion, I am sure you do not need more reasons why you must visit Kasauli in India as soon as possible. The quiet hill station is a blissful oasis, ideal to spend a day with family and friends, unwinding away from work, worries and weariness. So jet, set and go. The unique experience and adventurous vibe of Kasauli in the Himalayas await you.
