There is a wide range of fascinating natural corners in the province of Valencia, which will allow you to escape the city life and connect with yourself while you enjoy some of the greatest places our mother nature offers. I have already explored some, such as Mo[ntanejos](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/montanejos-cool-refreshing-pools-ygst) and Ch[ulilla](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/valley-beauty-in-chulilla-ywd5), must-see places very close to Valencia City.  But in this story, I want to tell you about what is known as the greatest and highest viewpoint of Valencia, the most popular point to get amazing views to the Mediterranean Coast and its gems. If you are a fan of nature and heights like me, you cannot miss this viewpoint that is only a 40-minute drive from Valencia!

A gem in the Natural Park of Sierra de Calderona

This balcony is considered one of the gems of the Natural Park of Sierra de Calderona – it is 600 meters high, and it is located between the town of Serra, Náquera, and Segart. You can access it by car (for those who prefer enjoying the place from the top and do not wish to spend time hiking) or on foot (for those who want to enjoy the path and do some exercise). From El Garbí viewpoint, on a clear day, you can see Valencia, Albufera Lake, Sagunto, and Sierra de Irta, amongst other places.

Different hiking options

There are different hiking options for all ages and tastes, with varying difficulties for you to choose the one that best suits you. The first one is to leave the park in the parking area that is located at the end of the road and then walk for 15 minutes to the viewpoint. This is an excellent option for those who just want to have a nice lunch and take some Instagram photos as you enjoy the views and the sunset. The other two most popular options are two hiking routes which take you around the Natural Park of Sierra Calderona, to discover its unique flora and fauna. Check this link to get an idea of the maps of the routes.

My friends and I opted for leaving the car halfway through the road that takes you to the top since there are spaces on the sides where you can park, and decided to walk up for a bit. There are different signs along the roads and paths, so it isn’t difficult to find El Garbí viewpoint. Once you get there, you find a picnic area where families and groups of friends enjoy having their Sunday lunch and a hermitage.  I 100% recommend you to take a picnic and sit on one of the many rocks to enjoy food in nature - one of my many favorite things to do. I also recommend you to explore the area once you reach the top of El Garbí, and find a spot to do some yoga or meditation, if you are keen on practicing them. You will definitely feel lucky to be in such a fantastic place!

I honestly think El Garbí viewpoint is the perfect plan to escape Valencia and feel connected to nature while you enjoy the views of the Mediterranean coast and its amazing mountain ranges. Just be careful and do not miss the right road turns and signs like we did a couple of times!
