New Delhi, the capital city of India, is a fascinating place to be at any time of the year. There is something unique to amuse each type of traveler. That is the beauty and richness of the city: a mix of historical essence and modern vibes. Besides, the city offers interesting opportunities to spend your day doing different activities, which are fun as well as enriching. Visit with your loved ones or solo to explore the heart and soul of Delhi in a day. There are plenty of spiritual vibes, handicrafts and food that await travelers here. Come and spend a perfect day in Delhi and explore the harmonious dichotomy amongst cultures, people, and places

Starting your day at Bangla Sahib, a holy place for Sikhs in the heart of Delhi can be a wonderful experience. Commonly known as a gurudwara, the structure is built using white marble while the central golden dome and tall flagpole are easily visible from a distance. Once inside, devotees and visitors must remove their shoes and cover their heads with a scarf. The interiors are gorgeous, and inside the main hall, there is a unique sense of serenity and bliss. You can sit inside and immerse yourself in the spiritual chants

Or you can take a dip in the holy pond. There is a separate section for taking the holy bath, which is a fully covered and private space. Here, you will also receive prasad or holy offerings, known as the Kada Prasad, which is a sweet semolina pudding made with love and clarified butter. Additionally, you can also have langar (meals served in gurudwaras), which is a combination of Indian fares such as lentils, bread, rice, vegetables, and a dessert

From Bangla Sahib, you can head to the Indian government-run Khadi store to buy an assortment of products for yourself and your loved ones. Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is a statutory government body aimed to create employment and economic upliftment in rural India. The term 'khadi' originated during the Swadeshi movement, launched by Mahatama Gandhi, the leader of India's independence movement against the British rule. Khadi is a hand-woven and hand-spun fabric made using a spinning wheel or charkha.

At the Khadi stores in Connaught Place, you can find quintessential Indian products, produced by local artisans. Here, you can find products ranging from skincare to haircare made using naturally grown ingredients. I have personally used some of their products and found them to be excellent. You can also find handicrafts, casual, and fashion wear here. Organic food options are also available. You can also find attractive gift packages, which are ideal for your loved ones.

Another few minutes from the Khadi store is the quirky Janpath market. Here, you can find a wide range of handicrafts, souvenirs, accessories, home decor items, Indian scents, or ittars in tiny bottles, books, clothes, and much more. The market is full of endless options to choose from - both at high-end and affordable prices. You can also buy street-side jewelry and trendy bags at reasonable prices.

A few kilometers away from Janpath Market is Bengali Market, which is known as a haven for foodies. Here, you can find a wide range of scrumptious delicacies, from savory to sweets to suit your palates. The prices are affordable, and the food quality is excellent. Some popular options you cannot miss here include pastries, cookies, Indian sweets, Chole Bhature, etc. Due to the increased footfall of customers, international cuisine is also being offered here to cater to different taste buds.
