One of the nicest things about summer is definitely those open-air events. People gather in a beautiful, warm atmosphere full of expectations and excitement. It is a great feeling to be part of it and enjoy the spectacle. Apulia is not a great summer destination only because of its wonderful beaches, delicious cuisine and beautiful towns, but also for unique and thrilling events.
The** **Red Bull Cliff Diving series is definitely one of the **most exciting **and spectacular summer events in Apulia. Seeing artistic, daring jumps from a 27 m platform is surely an epic experience. The whole event has a relaxed atmosphere and is full of young people and adrenaline addicts. In 2019 the Red Bull Cliff Diving will take place on the **2nd of June in **Polignano a Mare. Come early to reserve a good viewing spot and bring a hat and water, because you will be sitting or standing a few hours in the midday heat- but it definitely will be worth it!
The small picturesque portal town hosts for the third time the annual Firework Festival. The best pyrotechnical artist groups from the whole nation compete against each other. Not just its spectacular light show, but also the place itself is worth visiting. Wonderful firework installations over the Adriatic Sea and even a daylight firework show, make this event a must-visit! In 2019 the Festival dell'Arte Pirotecnica will take place from the 13th to the 17th of June.
The **small city of **Scorrano celebrates the sacred protector of the city once a year with a huge light show festival. More than 400.000 visitors from all over the world come every year to witness the spectacular light and music show. Millions of colorful lamps and lights on over 30 m high structures transform the town into a magical land. The festival usually takes place in the first week of July; *in 2019 it will be from the 5th to the 9th of July. *
This festival is the perfect opportunity not only to attend an enjoyable show, but also to learn something culture-wise! La Notte della Taranta is all about Apulian traditional dances and music. The festival starts on the third of August and takes place in an itinerant form throughout the Salento peninsula, the southern part of Apulia. Each city offers a different program with concerts, **dance **performances and cultural activities, such as photo screenings and exhibitions. The highlight of the Tour is the main concert on the 24th of August 2019 in Melpignano, a big event hosting national and international singers and artists.

Don’t miss out on these **spectacular events, **which can perfectly be combined with a relaxing summer getaway in this authentic Italian region.
