Fireworks always have their own kind of magic. The spectacular, beautiful light shows in the dark-night sky, always leave the spectators with a sense of wonder. They become even more stunning when the scenery itself is also beautiful. If you enjoy pyrotechnic and also look for a nice spot for a summer weekend getaway, don’t miss out on the Festival dell'Arte Pirotecnica 2019, in Tr[ani](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/a-stroll-in-trani-between-a-lively-port-and-ancient-history-u8kt).

The beautiful town of Tr[ani](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/a-stroll-in-trani-between-a-lively-port-and-ancient-history-u8kt) is a 40-minute drive from Ba[ri](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/explore-bari-a-metropolis-with-an-historic-charm-vgp3) and is also easy to reach by public transportation. It is particularly popular for its big cathedral at the sea, its beautiful sea promenade and historical center.

This unique setting is the perfect spot for something as spectacular as a firework festival. Once a year the picturesque portal town Tr[ani](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/a-stroll-in-trani-between-a-lively-port-and-ancient-history-u8kt) organizes the Firework Festival, where national "pyrotechnic artists" compete against each other. The event itself is quite new: 2017 was the first time it took place, but it was an immediate, huge success. People from all over the world and of all age ranges, came to see the amazing and creative installations over the sea. In 2018, there were over 80 000 visitors attending every evening of the event.

In 2019 the Festival dell'Arte Pirotecnica will take place from the 13th until the 17th of June. There is no entry fee, but it is very hard to find a parking space in the evening in such a small town. I recommend you to come in the afternoon and spend a nice day ex[ploring the beautiful city;  i](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/a-stroll-in-trani-between-a-lively-port-and-ancient-history-u8kt)n such way, you can reserve the best spot at the sea promenade for the evening, and believe me – it is definitely worth it. If you arrive early enough, you can even get a table in one of the many bars and cafes at the port and have an Ap[eritivo,](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/taralli-apulia-s-most-popular-fingerfood-olrs) while observing the spectacle.

For the first time ever in all Italy, there will also be a daylight firework show, called “Sogni a colori” (in English colourful dreams) taking place on the 16th of June at 12:45. Events like this are very rare and for sure it will be a spectacular experience, during which you'll get to see a colourful sky in the daylight.
