It shares its borders with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, and offers a very typical landscape made of rolling hills. Its main interest is the city of Botosani, the birthplace of many renowned Romanians (such as Mihai Eminescu, Nicolae Iorga or Grigore Antipa). Other notable places are: the Bucecea’s sugar refinery, the Georges Enesco museum and Adâncata Forest in Dorohoi and the Ipoteşti village museum (commemorating the poet Mihail Eminescu).
