DOUR MUSIC FESTIVAL in July

Roxane Casula | Live the World

November 23, 2022

Dour, my love! This year, it is the 30th edition of this *eclectic* festival of alternative, *independent* and *multicultural* music, and since 2001, I am always present at this event. The basic reason is that I lived in Dour for several years and my mother still lives there, but above all, I am a huge fan of the great feelings you get to experience when I am at this festival. We see known artists performiong, but also unknown ones, with many styles of music all mingled together. Just pure and good music in a community of good people: rock, the best of electronic music, hip-hop, trip-hop, reggae, drum'n'bass, dub music, punk, and many others... for 5 days that will all be for your ears, your body and your mind. To give you an idea, I invite you to listen this year's playlist .

Over time, the festival has grown in size, and in 2017 it welcomed more than 240,000 festival-goers from all over Europe. We can never thank Mr Carlo Di Antonio enough for having created it. Thank you Carlo!!!

Dour is a pretty small French-speaking village located in the Walloon region in the province of Hainaut. And it is in the Plaine de la Machine à Feu that the festival takes place every year, an old coal mining site that has almost no trace. We find ourselves among fields, meadows and trees for a country atmosphere and flower power. And that's what we want!

For a complete experience of the Dour festival and its atmosphere, it is obviously necessary to stay there, like any good festival-goer would. And a real festival-goer sleeps in tents with his sleeping bag. The campsite is gigantic, with toilets, food stands, drinks stands (beer, beer), springs (water points), showers. Needless to say, the first to arrive are always the best served. So, if you want to set up your cosy nest in the best possible place, you must arrive well in advance. For the precious and the most picky ones, there are hotels and guest houses around. And within the campsite itself, there are a Green camping, a Comfort camping and a camping for people with reduced mobility. Depending on the weather, do not forget: a bikini, shorts, sneakers, and a nasal spray for dust. In rainy weather: rain jacket, hood and pretty rubber boots for the charming mud.
