Even if Armenia with its territory and population is not among the biggest countries in the world, those who are more or less interested in this game/sport, most probably have heard about achievements of Armenians in chess. In recent years the national chess team of Armenia once became a world champion and three times an Olympic champion.

Chess is a game/sport but to some extent, it’s also a science. People like and play this game discovering its new and hidden sides. It’s a game for great minds. It teaches people the art of logical thinking and accurate calculation. Considering that chess has positive effect on the development of children and is a great tool to improve mathematical skills , Armenia became the first country to include chess as a compulsory subject at public schools to publicize the game throughout Armenia. This decision was much welcomed by the public. The President of Armenia who is also the President of the Chess Federation of Armenia contributes a lot Armenians to have all the facilities to develop their skills and competencies in chess.
