They say that when people are close to the sea, they are more relaxed, calm and they can have a connection with the nature. So, when you are visiting a new place and especially an island you should definitely go and visit its beaches; they always guarantee a unique and calming experience!

If you're ever visiting Cyprus and specifically Paphos, then here's your guide with some of the must-visit beaches while there!

Located in Kato Paphos , Alykes beach is one of the most popular beaches in Paphos. It is located between the beaches of Municipal Baths and Vrysoudia. Like every other beach in Cyprus, Alykes beach has been awarded with a "Blue Flag", because of the quality of its crystal clear sea water.

The beach is a narrow strip, which runs along the coastal waterfront and is different than the  beaches that offer a big, wide sandy coast, as it's commonly used in Cyprus;  conversely, it is a rocky coast with small areas of coarse dark sand, mixed with pebbles.

In the high season, the beach offers sun-beds and umbrellas that are located in the coastal front, as well as all the necessary facilities, so as to enjoy the beautiful water. In addition, a kiosk with water bicycles and puddles is located on the same beach.

Awarded with a Blue flag, Lighthouse Beach or Faros (in greek) is famous for its crystal clear waters. It is located in the west side of Cyprus and it  offers a unique naturalistic landscape of the area!

This beach is famous for its water, which sometimes becomes wavy, giving that way the opportunity to the people to play around and practise some waters-sports while there.

The beach offers all the facilities, so as to enjoy to the maximum this area. Big sun-beds, showers, umbrellas, recycling bins, as well as playgrounds for our little fellas, a beach volley court and many more. It is also the ideal place to start exploring all the natural paths around this incredible area.

Last but not least, there is a big variety of restaurants around this location, for every kind of tastes and needs. Also, small shops with souvenirs, haberdashery shops, cafeterias and bars are in your disposition, so as to make this experience even better.

Its color is different from the other beaches, since grey and blue are the two dominant colors of this scenery. Also, in the long side of the beach you can find boulders and gravels mixed with the fine grey sand.

During summertime, all the necessary infrastructures are offered; from sun-beds and recycling bins to watersports installations, so as to enjoy summer days in the sea. In addition, a lifeguard is available during summertime. The area offers a variety of restaurants around the beach. So if you get hungry, you have your solution!
