Continuing my “3[-day itinerary”](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/location?bbox=24.9946,36.8922,25.3920,37.1240) series, I am now back with this page to suggest a new route during which you’ll have the chance to explore some of the most beautiful Aegean Islands!
Let’s suppose that you ‘re looking for a close destination to escape for a day or two; you need an island close to Athens, an island that you can arrive right away and an island that is well-connected and offers something new and different. Well, let’s also say that you’ve got some time, you have saved some money and a strong motivation to travel around the Aegean Sea, urges you to do a small and quick research on the places offered for a unique cruise experience. Where would you go and what islands would you visit?
In the itinerary that follows, I’ve prepared a few suggestions that would definitely steal your heart, whether you’re travelling to Greece during winter or summer! Well, in this case travelling during summer is strongly recommended! Let’s start!
Antiparos is a picturesque island in the southern Aegean sea, at the heart of the Cyclades, Greece. In fact, it’s really close to the famous island of Paros, which will be suggested and presented later on in detail (day 2 of your itinerary). Antiparos is an excellent island for a relaxing holiday and it’s popular for its crystal blue sandy coastlines, offered for hours of swimming and for extreme & water sports and activities.
While in Antiparos, you can visit the town (chora) that was built around the 15th century , its Venetian castle and of course the famous Antiparos Cave on Agios Ioannis Hill, where you can admire impressive stalagmite and stalactite formations! The island’s most popular beach is Agios Spyridonas which is a welcoming spot for families and people looking to spend a pleasurable day at the beach. Its crystalline waters are nice and shallow, making this beach ideal for children.
As said above, Antiparos island is located only one nautical mile southwest of Paros, which is translated to a distance that is less than 7 minutes ferry trip. So yeah, Paros is definitely worth a visit while there! Ferries are running daily, from Monday to Sunday all year around from Antiparos to Paros and reverse! Paros island is ideal for young people, romantic couples and families, while its beaches are famous for their exotic water and their golden sand.
The last island suggested in this itinerary, is of course the beautiful and exotic island of Naxos! Naxos is the greenest island in the Cyclades with impressively high mountains and fertile valleys. Famous for its beaches, that are among the most beautiful in Greece, Naxos is an island of beautiful old churches, monasteries and Venetian castles! It’s actually super easy to get to the island, since there’re ferries running all day long from the port of Paros. While in Naxos, it’s recommended renting a car, a motorbike or bicycle if you plan on exploring the whole island. Long stretches of golden sand and the most amazing color of blue sea you will ever see, are awaiting to be discovered!
