Opened in a building of an abandoned tool company Huber the café WerkzeugH is probably the cosiest bar in Vienna. The name still reminds us on its history. The café started as the art project some 10 years ago, but survived till today and became the living room of the entire neighbourhood.
WerkzeugH is located in Vienna’s fifth district in the Schönbrunner Strasse 61. It is a meeting place for mostly younger and often artistic crowd. Some of the guests even realised interesting projects, while sitting in café, one of them has created the concept for his music label, another wrote a complete play in the garden. Some of the guests do their office work in the café.
Lot of events, especially with humanitarian and art character have taken place in WerkzeugH, after all it started as an art project, which could be shaped by the guests.
The interior of the café offers huge sofa landscapes and it even reminds of old furniture storage, but in a good and homely way. Same as the garden interior is abundant with different plants, the different sizes flowerpots are everywhere and you even get a feeling that you are in a small biotope. A little bit extravagant interior design, definitely intensify casual atmosphere. There is a smoker and non-smoker area; however you don’t feel the segregation in the air.
In front of the café there is a big square where the petrol station of the old company was located. Over the years, the square became garden with abundance of plants looking like a true urban jungle. The tables and armchairs in the garden are a bit different every day so you can’t physically have your regular table. In summer days all events are happening at this spot and you can even play Nintendo 1 and Super Mario.
There is also food in WekzeugH, mainly menu with an international cuisine which changes weekly, always vegetarian and vegan dish. The food is by no means bad, but you do not need to go here for a good food.
After visiting some more classical and typical Viennese cafés like Ce[ntral](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/central-cafe-the-place-where-hitler-stalin-trotsky-and-tito-drank-coffee-2jui), WerkzeugH could be your next destination and good change.
