Enzi outdoor furniture

The cult outdoor furniture was first named Enzi after Daniel Enzi, former general manager of MQ, who was responsible for the use of the courtyards. After its introduction Enzi evolved to Enzo, is hollow, more robust and made of recyclable materials and later to Viena model. The “Enzis” change colours from season to season. The colour is usually determined by a public online vote and the colours have interesting and catchy names such swimming pool blue, almost Austria violet, lush meadow, ivory tusk white, strawberry field red, candy shop, mermaid etc. In 2005, this multifunctional furniture was even awarded the Adolf Loos National Prise for Design.

Everything began with an art project in 2002: After the opening of the MuseumsQuartier, there was no seating and no artistic entertainment in the courtyards except for a few wooden benches. As part of an art project, huge foam objects for the area were installed, which were enthusiastically accepted by the visitors and also used as seating, among other things. Due to the great success of the project, the MQ installed this outdoor in the summer 2003, which was immediately received and used by the visitors.

In the meantime, MQ furniture has grown to become a genuine** trademark of Vienna** and is used by Vienna Tourism Association as brand ambassador of the city. The popularity of the MQ’s courtyard, which is known as Bobo's city living room, can be also attributed to this unique furniture and atmosphere that it delivers.
