Cala Millor, an ideal destination in Majorca

The Mediterranean Coast is world renowned for its unbeatable climate, white sandy beaches, and turquoise waters. However, what I love about these places is that they are great to visit all year round because of their nice weather. So, when planning your beach holiday to Majorca and dreaming of exploring its beautiful spots with easy access to the Mediterranean Sea and breathtaking views, take a look at this ideal destination: Cala Millor. 

Cala Millor, located in the eastern part of the island of Majorca, is one of the most attractive areas of the Levante Mallorcan coast due to its extensive, fine sand beach and crystal-clear waters. Cala Millor Beach

Cala Millor's main attraction is its blue flag beach, which is 1.8 kilometres long and up to 35 metres wide. It is a beach of white sand and turquoise waters, with all the facilities you would expect from a popular holiday resort. There are showers, sun loungers, lifeguards, bars, restaurants and every water sport you can think of. The water is safe and shallow, which makes it a great choice for families, and there are also ramps for those with disabilities. With a large part of its extension declared a nature reserve, the beach ends to the south at the old watchtower of Punta d'Amer, an enclave that is well worth a visit due to its fantastic views.

Not only is Cala Millor a wonderful town, but so are its neighbour villages and surroundings. Therefore, if you wish to explore around Cala Millor, I recommend you to visit some nearby places like** the picturesque fishing town of Porto Cristo and the impressive Caves of Drach**, two of my favourite places in Majorca. 

Porto Cristo & The Caves of Drach

Porto Cristo is a cute small fishing town close to Cala Millor, less than a 10-minute drive, with one of Majorca's most beautiful natural harbours. This urban nucleus has many attractions for the visitor, but undoubtedly, its main attraction and what has made this small town very popular among visitors are the spectacular Caves of Drach located just a few minutes from the centre.

These caves are one of the main tourist attractions and undoubtedly one of the most outstanding on the island since they are almost 1,200 metres long horizontally, and at their deepest point, they are 25 metres below the surface. The caves also conceal a large underground lake, Lake Martel, considered one of the largest underground lakes in the world. The effect of water filtering through the limestone subsoil for centuries has formed these caves and moulded each of their cavities.
