I know everybody knows notorious Bermuda Triangle, a region of the Atlantic where ships and aircraft allegedly disappear under mysterious circumstances. But did you know that there is a Bermuda Triangle in the heart of Vienna? It is a small historic corner of the city center, which is famous for the crazy nightlife and Vienna’s central party mile. Usually, nobody disappears here, or not for a long time. The name Bermuda Triangle is due to the fact that it is very easy to get lost and drunk in so many bars and then awake a few days later in some trench or in a hospital with no memory of what had happened.

Party all night long

Bermuda Triangle or Bermudadreieck, how the locals know it, is the area of the 1st Vienna District, which encompasses a handful of small streets next to the Danube Channel and Schwedenplatz. During the day, this area is a quiet Jewish Quarter with a famous synagogue, the only one to have survived the Holocaust in German-speaking Europe. There are many interesting things to experience here such as An[ker Clock](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/it-s-always-the-right-time-for-ankeruhr-vienna-s-famous-clock-rm89), Jewish Social Hall, unique small shops and some of the best restaurants. However, this article will be dedicated only to the “dark” side of this area.

No other part of Vienna goes through so much transformation when the sun goes down. At night, Bermuda Triangle becomes a paradise for hedonists who like not-that-cheap drinks, a lot of clubs, bars, and loud music everywhere. The main clubs are located in Judengasse, Seitenstettengasse, and Sterngasse, which are easy to reach from every point of the city because three metro lines cross the area. The bars' offer is so huge and rather diverse and made for every mood. From cozy-get-together bars to atmospheric and loud escalating party cellars - it has it all. It is common that the nocturnal visitors are taken by the ambulance because of excessive drinking, while all others are unaware of it, hence the name Bermuda Triangle. I will present to you three popular locations placed steps away from each other that you could visit on your wild night out in Vienna.

Kaktus Bar - Oldie but goldie

Kaktus Bar is one of the first bars opened in the Bermuda Triangle.  It is a typical representative of Vienna′s 1980s, the time of Falco, and a wave of new German singers (Neue Deutsche Welle). From the outside, the tiny Kaktus Bar is rather inconspicuous; however, as soon as you enter, you are in the middle of the party. The bar is exceptionally diverse with the DJ and daily parties.

Bermuda Bräu – an all-night entertainment

Bermuda Bräu is the type of location where you could stay the entire day and night. It is divided into three different areas. The first floor is a restaurant, which offers the best Viennese cuisine. Here, you can warm up and prepare your stomach for what comes next. The next step is the ground floor, where a well-kept pub with the rustic wooden furniture known for a huge beer assortment is located. And as the night goes by and the mood goes up, guests move down to the basement, where the party goes on.

Merciless in Gnadenlos

As the name already suggests, Gnadenlos (English: merciless) is one of those shady locations in the Bermuda Triangle. It is big, loud, and rather expensive. It's located in a beautiful 7-meter-high basement with the arches, very simple but effective. If you are into crazy partying until early morning, Gnadenlos should be the choice of your poison.

These were only three out of dozens of bars of this Party Mile. The Bermuda Triangle in the historical heart of Vienna may be just the place you want to go to disappear. But be warned, nobody is safe, and prepare your liver for a night of heavy drinking.
