Batumi is one of the most beautiful cities in Ge[orgia](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/georgia-touch-of-the-past-taste-of-the-future-6wg0). In my opinion, it would not be as attractive as it is without the love sculpture of Ali and Nino. In this article, I am going to tell you about this sculpture and the love story of this tragic couple.

The 8-meter-tall moving steel sculpture of a man and a woman is located in the heart of Batumi city. The creator of this art is a Georgian sculptor Tamar Kvesitadze. The figures are slowly moving to each other, then they touch, and after that, they separate from each other again. This romantic scene is endless, and the visitors are always wondering what the story behind it is. It symbolically represents the attraction between the man and the woman, who are in love with each other, and on top of that, it tells us a story about Ali and Nino.

A story about Ali and Nino

“Ali and Nino” is a famous novel from 1937 by Kurban Said, an author from Azerbaijan. It is about a love between one Muslim boy Ali, and a Georgian princess Nino. Ali belonged to the Aristocrats family, and he fell in love with Nino Kipiani, who was also from a famous family. Despite the fact that they had a different religion, they overcame all the difficulties, and they got married. However, they were separated by the invasion of Soviet Russia in Azerbaijan. When Ali had to choose between his family or the country, Ali chose to die bravely for his own country. Until now, there are many secrets in this story, and people still doubt whether this love story is real or not. There is a lovely movie about Ali and Nino that was released in 2016. I highly recommend you to see it before visiting Batumi, where the 8-meter-tall sculpture of Ali and Nino is located.

The feelings about the sculpture

After learning about the story of Ali and Nino, you will like those figures even more. They overcame many difficulties to be together, and finally, once they started a family, the war separated them again. When the figures are near, your heart is full of happiness and joy, but after a while, your mood changes as they are separated again. It feels like they have a magnet, and you wait for the second when they will be intersected again. The love sculpture reflects real life, as well. It makes the hearts beat faster and feel the power of love.

While being in Batumi, do not forget to visit the love sculpture of Ali and Nino. I would suggest you read about their story thoroughly or watch a movie before seeing it. In this way, this art will not be just a moving steel sculpture. It will be a symbol of the undying love of the couple, who have to overcome many difficulties before getting together. It will be a lesson to take, to cherish your loved ones and be happy that they are next to you.
