La Maddalena

Once the core of the mighty Roman Empire, and the cradle of the Renaissance, it is also home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, including high art and monuments. Italy is famous for its delicious cuisine, it's trendy fashions, luxury sports cars and motorcycles, diverse regional cultures and dialects, as well as for its various sceneries from the seas to the Alps and Apennines, all reasons why it got nickcoded Il Bel Paese (the Beautiful Country). Its residents are known for their warm hospitality and are happy to introduce visitors to their local specialities such as 'culurgiones' and 'malloreddus' (typical local pasta dishes), Pecorino cheese, Cannonau wine, and Seadas (a cheese-based dessert drizzled with honey). Its ancestral traditions, kept alive to this day, attest to the richness of its history, which has seen a confluence of many different populations. A land of emigration since the 1950s and largely rural in character, it is one of the least populous areas of the country.

Sardinia

Arcipelago di La Maddalena National Park is a geomarine national park on the coast of Sardinia. The park was established on 1 April 1994. It covers an area on land and sea of over 12,000 hectares and 180 kilometers of coasts. This region includes all the islands and islets within the territory of the Municipality of La Maddalena, Italy. The territory of the National Park will also represent an important part of the Bocche di Bonifacio international marine park which will soon be established.
