Mariestads Teater

Mariestads Teater is located in the center of the crossing Österlånggatan and Kungsgatan. It was inaugurated in 1843 and is built in memory since 1993.

A live theater is of great importance to the cultural life of Mariestad. In our unique theater there is an atmosphere like nowhere else! It's crowded and pleasant. Here, acting, music and much more are offered in an environment from the traveling theater company's time.

The theater, like other buildings, requires continuous maintenance and adaptation to new regulations. A disability disaster has been built, two places for wheelchair-accessible escorts have been arranged and an improved handicap toilet. Hearing trail updated in 2014.

The theater seats 193 people and is booked around 200 days a year.
