Spain is famous for its friendly inhabitants, relaxed lifestyle, its cuisine, vibrant nightlife, and world-famous folklore and festivities, and its history as the core of the vast Spanish Empire. The most popular beaches are the ones along the Mediterranean coast and on the Canary Islands. Robust building containing a monastery and a Benedictine guesthouse from the 15th century, today under the auspices of the Dominicans. Inside the church of the monastery, encased in a sculpture of the last century, are the remains of a statue which, according to legend, Simón Vela found in a nearby cave in 1434.
