All the people have an individuality of theirs that gives them their specific personality. This conformation emanates from the deep root of our ancestors, their customs, their way of life, their beliefs; a whole set of components that give rise to the sacred building of Culture. It is much that the rural world has contributed to this building and to life, in general; It is also evident that a large part of this contribution is progressively and relentlessly waning.

In order to recover (as an identity resource) and to value (such as a local development resource) that rich heritage, the CAPELA ETNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM is created.

In 1981 the "Caaveiro Monastery" CEIP began a sociopedagogical experience consisting of a "permanent exhibition of objects collected by students in their homes, typical of traditional folk culture", an experience that was successful and gratifying, recognized and valued throughout the educational community and neighbors, and gradually extended outside the City Council and the region, until it ended up becoming an important Ethnographic Collection included in the collection of collections visited by the Ministry of Culture of the Xunta de Galicia.

In the year 2001, the Council of the Chapel and the CEIP Monastery of Caaveiro agree the creation of an association called "Patronage of the Ethnographic Museum of the Chapel" in order to be an integral value of the cultural heritage of A Capela; This project unites all the neighborhood associations, cultural, etc. belonging to the City Council, along with other private partners. The Patronage has been planning since its birth, two main objectives, the creation of an Ethnographic Museum, to house the Ethnographic Collection, and the research, defense and promotion of Galician culture, in such a way that the use of existing resources is encouraged, the contribution to development sustainable, the dynamism of other sectors such as hotel trade, crafts, etc., and the tourist development of the City Council.
