The Valladolid Science Museum, located southwest of the city, began in May 2003. The project, municipal initiative was built on the grounds of payment Vistaverde where the old flour mill was' The drainer ', an industrial complex whose magnificent façade was respected to house the Museum's permanent exhibition.

The architects Rafael Moneo and Enrique de Teresa, professionals of great international prestige, were responsible for the project, with the advice of Francisco Romero and Juan Jose Echevarria. The result was a unique architectural complex crossed by the river Pisuerga, which has become not only popular science reference, but a symbol of modernity.

A space which to admire a great Foucault pendulum, understand our nervous system, go 'down the hall of the senses', challenge our mind, see a beautiful starry night in his magnificent Planetarium, or observe the main species that live and lived the waters of the Pisuerga river in the House of space- river opened in 2007. A range whose main objective is to bring science to society, so that the social function of the entity takes hold: firstly, encouraging visitors to learn about different scientific phenomena; and secondly, encouraging critical thinking and reflection.

The museum also has space, an auditorium, with capacity for 298 people-, and a light-of Multipurpose Room 150 square meters-, suitable for conducting various events (conferences, courses, awards ...); and a modern and accessible website (www.museocienciavalladolid.es) that provides first hand all the museum information.
