**This small museum explores the traditional ways of dairy farming and cheesemaking that have been in practice in the Slovenian Alps. **

This unique museum offers guided tours to its visitors that explain the history of dairy farming in the Alpine region of Slovenia, and the techniques that have been used in this region for centuries. The exhibits display traditional tools and equipment.

The Alpine Dairy Farming Museum also has live demonstrations of traditional cheesemaking techniques, such as the process of making cheese from raw milk, the formation of cheese into shapes, and the proper ageing process that cheese must undergo!

The best part of the museum has to be the cheese-tasting room, where you can sample traditional Alpine cheeses. While doing the cheese tasting, you’ll be informed about the different technicalities of each cheese, such as the differences in taste, texture, and aroma.
