Not all of Slovenia’s natural wonders are a long and difficult hike away. Slap Virje is an impressive waterfall that is only a 5 minute walk from the car park, making it a great trail to follow on the overly hot days, or if you’re looking for an easy, short, and accessible natural park to explore.

The off-the-beaten-path waterfall is tucked between the trees, and crashes down into a small pool of bright green waters. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, you can hike up a steep trail that offers views from above of the impressive waterfall.

It is possible to swim in the Slap Virje pool, but because of the fluctuating temperatures from the Karst, the water tends to be very cold, so stick in a toe or two before fully immersing yourself in the waters!
