This mosque and cultural center is home to the history and is main place of worship for the Islamic community in Slovenia.
As Slovenia received many internal islamic migrants during the 60s in Yugoslavia, a mosque was always on the radar for being constructed. Finally built in 1990, this cultural center commemorates the Islamic culture and its presence in Slovenia.
The mosque itself is very unique, as it is in a bit of an industrial area of Ljubljana, and its architecture is more modern than traditional islamic. The modernism of the building pulls from elements of islamic culture, but is less traditional.
This is Slovenia’s only mosque, making it an incredibly important place of worship for the country's islamic population.
