Novi Sad

Serbia numbers around 7 million residents. Its capital, Belgrade, ranks among the oldest and largest cities in Southeastern Europe. The Pannonian Plain covers the northern third of the country (Vojvodina and Mačva) while the easternmost tip of Serbia extends into the Wallachian Plain. Serbia's many sights include stunning castles, Medieval monasteries, lovely traditional villages and bustling cities with baroque parks and art-deco architecture. Largest national park in the country is Đerdap in the eastern part of the country, on the border with Romania. It consists of the Djerdap gorge thru which the river Danube runs and its beautiful surroundings of almost untouched nature.

If you want to see the nature you have to go to Fruska Gora a huge natural park at the south of Novi Sad. Also it possesses a dozen of monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Combining the European Baroque with the Byzantine traditions of the Balkans, these churches have a cultural importance as a bridge between the Southern and the Northern Serbs.
