With the population of about 420, 000 people, Ulan-Ude is the capital of the Republic of Buryatia, Eastern Siberia. Known as a multinational republic, solely Ulan-Ude presents an attractive spot for the ethnic tourism. Home to Buryats and Mongols, Cossacks and Orthodox Christians, it is also a gate to nearby Mongolia and China.
