Turda

It is a country of great natural beauty and diversity, and has a rich cultural heritage, including a variety of ethnic, linguistic, and confessional groups. Things for which Romania is famous include: the Carpathian mountains, wine, medieval fortresses, Dacia cars, Dracula, stuffed cabbage leaves (sarmale), the Black Sea, sunflower fields, painted monasteries and the Danube Delta.

A must-see for anyone interested in historical and cultural landmarks, and a great stop for all those who want to experience urban Transylvanian life at its best. You will also find lots of picturesque villages in the town vicinity. The other notable tourist destinations in this area are:  the Turda canyon, the city of Gherla, the salt mines of Salina Turda and the regions of Țara Călatei and Tara Moților.
