The mission of M.N.H.C.V.

Through care for heritage and its interpretation, through activities for specialists and the community, we make a museum with a unique collection in Romania a relevant institution for the public and for culture, promoting research, interactivity, lifelong learning (Life Long Learning) , dialogue and creative engagement. The National Museum of Maps and the Old Book is more than just a museum, it is a center for studying and reconsidering the history and geographies of the world described by the old maps and books in the collection.

Vision:

M.N.H.C.V. creates links between patrimony-education-culture, between the past and the present. The National Museum of Maps and the Old Book is a center for the study and interpretation of the worlds and histories described by the old maps and books, made available to unconditioned specialists. M.N.H.C.V. is also a public museum passionate about the adventure of knowledge, which will thus experience unique learning experiences in an experimental and creative museum space.
