Arte Cafe

Situated in Copou, the art district of Iaşi, Arte Café, the first artist who respects a well-chosen theme, is located inside the Mihail Kogalniceanu Museum, a building built between 1807 and 1808, on stone foundations. The architecture of the neoclassical style house was the home of Mihail Kogalniceanu and his family and the place of important meetings and parties of distinguished personalities of the city and the country: Carol I, George Enescu, Mihail Sturdza, Grigore Alexandru Ghica, Alexandru Ioan Cuza, Vasile Alecsandri, Costache Negri, and others. Mihail Kogalniceanu has been preoccupied with the museum since his youth.

Thus his wishes were realized only in the year 1970, when the house entered the patrimony of the History Museum of Moldova. The building's appearance and museum exhibition (reception room, Ecaterina Kogalniceanu's bedroom, office, salon, living room, children's room and hall) were the result of the restoration and consolidation works (1994-1999). The demisol of the house, comprises 3 rooms, a lodgings and a pantry, space that hosts Arte Cafe today. The capacity of the café is 80 seats indoors, and the terrace set in the courtyard that impresses the house has 45 seats.

Each room has a special charm, giving you the opportunity to meet your friends or business partners in an environment that is connected to the world over the WIFI Internet, but with a high level of intimacy. Inside the café, it has two non-smoking lounges, and the oval center salon and dedicated bar are designed for smokers. The privacy of these salons, created by the interior design, creates the perfect setting for romantic evenings, conversations between friends and business discussions, cultural evenings. The arrangement of the space, made by the plastic artist Valentina Drutu, preserves the house configuration, combines the modern elements with the classic ones, maintaining the balance and the chromatic, composing of the space. Paintings, decorative objects, painted ceramic pots made by the artist give uniqueness, refinement and distinction to the café. All of this complements professional services, elegance and refinement being dominant principles of this space dedicated to culture people, artists and not only them. The ambient music happily complements the atmosphere of good taste, relaxation and warmth. The Arte Cafe coffee shop area is ideal for spending special moments.
