Located almost in the center of Mora village, a few kilometers from Fluviário, the Megalithic Museum, only at national level, is the realization of an old dream of the local authority, towards the realization of the vast and rich megalithic heritage existing in the municipality.

Inaugurated on September 15, 2016, the Museum integrates and rehabilitates the old Mora Station, and also two new buildings for museum center and cafeteria area.

The old structure welcomes leisure facilities for young people and children, an internet room and library, access to which is free, plus an activity room with several interactive games, which, in a playful manner, extend our knowledge.

Built from scratch, the museum space of 750 square meters follows the modeling of ground and has three representative areas of people everyday: Life, Death and Contemplation. Here, the visitor is welcomed by a 3D movie, which depicts life in a Neolithic village, and makes us travel back in time. Different interactive tables enable visitors to access information about the exhibits, some with more than six thousand years, find out how to make excavations and from the discovery of the wonderful world of megaliths. Along the way, visitors will have left surprised by the unusual presence of a man in full size to make shale plates ...

The several hundred exhibits, assigned mostly by the National Archaeological Museum, are from the dozens of archaeological excavations, which, in the municipality of Mora, began in 1914 with Vergílio belt, resulting in the work El Neolithic Pavía, edited in 1921.

The four buildings of the Museum are interconnected by a protected corridor with metal plates whose small openings symbolize geometrism of shale plates.

Are, therefore, welcome!
