Where today is the current Cinema Paradise, it was built the first space dedicated to performance in the city of Tomar in 800 and restored in 1876 with the appointment of Nabantino Theatre. It was here that the Tomarenses attended for the first time to the cinema in 1901.

Already in 1909, opened a new venue for the seventh art, the Hall Animatógrafo Take Paradise which stood in the Church of S. rear João.Dez years later, work began on the renovation of the theater Nabantino in charge of the commercial company "Fonseca, Smith & Company", whose headquarters are located at Infantry Road 15 in Tomar. The project entailed the destruction of the old theater Nabantino and building the future Paradise Theater which started in 1920 under the purview of the architect Deolindo Vieira who had designed a 'theater to the Italian "for the purpose. During the works for the new theater, the shows were still in the Hall Animatógrafo.

The official inauguration was held on 24 March 1924.Na 40s, the theater again went through a remodel, this time designed by the architect Ernesto Korrodi who dedicated himself to the total transformation of the interior and the addition of a ballroom and a bar, keeping the exterior facades designed by Deolindo Vieira. December 18, 1947 was the date of the new opening.

Nearly half a century later, the Paradise Theater definitively closed to the public in 1991 and was acquired by the city of Tomar in 1997 which undertook to renovate the building already in ruins.

The new and current Cinema Paradise opened for the last time in 2002, being since then open to the public with the most diverse shows and movies.   valences concert hall with capacity for 410 people, with valence for various forms of performing arts (music, theater, dance ...) and cinema.
