'Greetings from Jerusalem Avenue' by Joanna Rajkowska, Warsaw

This palm tree became one of the most popular symbols of Warsaw. Marking an intersection of two big arteries in the city center, the big sculpture became a characteristic element of the capital's landscape. Not many know that the palm tree is actually an artistic installation created in 2002 by Joanna Rajkowska. It's title 'Greetings from Jerusalem Avenues' refers to the name of the neighbouring street and reminds of the vanished Jewish community in the postwar Poland.
