**See the seals return to the sea! Watch the seals out in the wild on a 3 hour boat tour or visit the seals in the cozy rescue centre. **

• It’s time to release the seals! When the rescue Pieterburen seals are ready to return home, they are let loose on the shores of Lauwersoog into the Wadden Sea. Watch this magical moment in person. Only a small group can go along each time, so you’re in for an intimate experience. We recommend leaving the little kids at home, it’s best for those 4+! Tickets can only be booked online.
• Boat Tour: Watch the seals from afar on a 2 hour boat trip around the Wadden Sea. When the anchor is dropped, you can stop to look at the seals and birds in their natural habitat. It’s 19€ per person. A longer 3 hour boat tour is available that also includes a disembarkment at the island of Schiermonnikoog and a short tour with a guide around the nature reserve at 35€ per person. Both options are great for nature and animal lovers!
• Seal Rescue Centre: The rescue centre located in Pieterburen is fairly small. This isn’t like a zoo where there’s a ton to see, but it gives these rescues a home as they recover. You’ll see some common seals and grey seals, pups and adults, though it varies from season to season. It can be interactive too - you can get up close and give the seals some fish. This is about as close as you’ll get to these adorable sea puppies. The rescue centre is a nice extra , but we highly recommend the boat tour and seal release experience.
