In the middle of the city lies a beautiful and peaceful park.

In one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in Utrecht, you will find a romantic park, full of old trees, that is popular with all ages. Surrounded by mansions and city villas, this place is perfect to hang out, go for a run, or have a barbecue. Sit on the grass by the pond with a view on the fountain, let the children play on the playground, or go for a walk on one of the winding paths.

Whether you have a picnic in summer or get a coffee at the coffee stand in winter, Wilhelminapark is a great place to be all year round!

Wilhelminapark was opened in 1898, and was named after Queen Wilhelmina, who was inaugurated the same year. During World War II, the name of the park changed temporarily to Nassaupark (Nassau is the family name of the Dutch royal family). After this it changed back to Wilhelminapark, the park that was one of the first ones in the Netherlands to become a national monument, and the park Utrecht knows today as one of the most beloved places of the city.
