**Get yourself some fresh stroopwafels at this square that connects the mall to the city centre. **
Vredenburgplein is located right outside of Hoog Catharijne Mall. The square has changed a lot throughout the years: in 1595 witch burnings took place here, at the end of the 19th century there was a gas factory here, and nowadays it is a connection between the mall and the city centre.
Get yourself some fresh stroopwafels, cheese, vegetables or fruit at the market that is there on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Apart from food there are also stands with clothes and other products. Be sure to check the organic farmers market out for a truly local experience in Utrecht. It's a bustling scene!
For local Utrechters, the Vredenburg Square is a popular meeting point, where the city comes together.
