Cycle your way through all the sites and objects that inspired Van Gogh’s incredible paintings along this 51 km trail!
If there’s an artist that deserves their own bicycle path, it’s surely Vincent Van Gogh. The Dutch painter is loved and cherished throughout the entire world - but especially in the Netherlands, his home country. Years after his death, there are tons of places in Holland where you can fully take in his creative genius, including the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Now you can take a scenic route and pedal your way past various places that he portrayed in his paintings!
How does it work? The cycling path begins in Nuen - a town in Brabant that Van Gogh lived and worked in for two years. Take in all the nature and simplicity of the incredible Dutch countryside just as Van Gogh once did! Fun fact: Van Gogh’s first masterpiece was created in the area - The Potato Eaters! From the “Vincentre” you can start your journey with a walk in the open air museum. Then you’ll begin the path with blown up versions of his work, and interactive presentations of people who knew the artist.
