A former industrial park turned into a trendy neighborhood filled with local shops, innovative restaurants, and creative workspaces.
- Welcome to the “Forbidden City” of Strijp-S! The industrial area used to house the Dutch Philips employees, but over the past few years it has flourished into a hip district. Everything in this area is upcoming and cool, and it’s really THE place to go for just about everything in Eindhoven.
- What’s there to do in the Strijp? They’ve got you covered with cute coffee shops, second hand stores, outdoor and rooftop bars, art galleries, a local favourite cinema, and even an indoor skatepark! They’ve also got ongoing events throughout the year like outdoor weekend markets, the Dutch Design Week, “So You Think You Can Longboard Dance?”, and the winter light festival GLOW Eindhoven.
- Strijp-S is easily accessible on your own, where you can spend your day wandering through each of the cool set ups in the neighborhood. If you want to know more about the history and building of the Strijp, there are different guided tours you can book through their website.
