**Learn about the horrible bombardment that destroyed a big part of Rotterdam in 1940. **

In Museum Rotterdam ‘40-’45 NOW you can experience what it was like to be in Rotterdam on the 14th of May in 1940. This experience takes place at an eight-meter-long touchscreen table, after that there is a short film where you will experience the war up close and you will see why the city of Rotterdam has become so different from most cities in the Netherlands.

There are objects such as weapons, uniforms and daily objects displayed in a gallery. There are often special stories behind these sometimes ordinary things, like Mrs. Smit's porcelain clogs, received at the fair from her first boyfriend, or the tin and wood train for Gerhard, made by his father when they were hiding from the Nazis.
