Voted Best Arthouse Cinema in the Netherlands, this is the place for all film enthusiasts.

In this former police station built in 1928, is now a charming, historical arthouse cinema located. It is the only building in Utrecht that is designed in Amsterdamse School style, and for that reason it was officially granted listed building status in 2001.

With four screens that show arthouse movies and an introduction to the movie you’re about to watch before it starts, the complex was crowned the best cinema in the Netherlands in the first year after they opened. At Louis Hartlooper Complex films, festivals, food, drinks and special events all come together.

Because of its intimate atmosphere, people like to come to the theatre an hour or two before the movie starts, so they can enjoy a beer or a meal at the café or restaurant which are located in the complex. They have a wide assortment of beer and use 100% organic meat and authentic ingredients.
