**A manor house nestled in the woods. There’s tons of pretty walks to do around this hidden gem. **
Step into the woods for a castle surprise. Just a 15 minute drive from Rhenen, Landgoed Prattenburg is a beautiful estate with plenty of walking paths in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Cycling and mountain biking aren’t allowed here, sorry! Free to access, we recommend Landgoed Prattenburg for any traveller around Rhenen after a break in nature.
One of the highlights of Landgoed Prattenburg is its Bat Bridge. The rustic wooden bridge connects the two sides of the pond. It also happens to be a cute photo spot. Don’t miss it when you’re walking around here. But what walks are there?
Walk at Landgoed Prattenburg
We recommend the Prattenburg Hiking Trail (“Wandelroute Prattenburg”) for trekkers of every ability level. At 6.5 km, the walk takes you through the highlights of the Landgoed Prattenburg estate in its woodlands and beautiful moor. It loops from the car park and back.
Castle in the Woods: Kasteel Prattenburg
Built in the 1800s, Kasteel Prettenburg is an interesting sight to see while you’re walking around the estate. But, it’s privately owned so you can’t enter. The main reason to come to Landgoed Prattenburg is its woodland walks. But, while you’re here, take a peek and photo of the castle. The coach house and garden house are also quite pretty!
