Everybody in the Netherlands knows the InterContinental Amstel Hotel, or the Amstel Hotel. It is without a doubt one of the most luxurious and beautiful hotels in the whole country. In 2007, the hotel was the only Dutch hotel that was on the list of the World’s Best Hotels from the Institutional Investor Magazine.

If you walk passed the hotel you will see it for yourself: the architecture on the outside is already breathtaking. It was designed by Cornelis Outshoorn in 1863, and with 55 rooms and 24 suites it has been a 5-star hotel since 2012. The inside is even more impressive: majestic staircases, wonderful chandeliers and marble floors. No wonder guests from European nobility to The Rolling Stones and Rihanna stay here whenever they are in the country!
