• Hotel New York has found its home in the old HQ of the Holland America Line or Holland Amerika Lijn in Dutch. Now a US-owned cruise line, the Holland America line was a Dutch shipping and passenger line for over 100 years. Founded in Rotterdam in 1873, the company helped ship hundreds and thousands of emigrants from the Netherlands to North America in the 19th and 20th century.
• A building with iconic architecture, it stands out from the crowd alongside modern Rotterdam’s contemporary buildings. You really can’t miss it. If you’d like, you can even book yourself a night's stay in this historic building. It's got a bit more character than your average city hotel!
• The hotel has a restaurant and outdoor terrace and is located right on the river at the tip of Wilhelminapier. A small section of grass extends from the hotel to the riverfront where you can sit and relax. Sometimes when the weather is nice in the summer you’ll find beach chairs laid out here. It's a great place to stop and admire the city views, you can see the Euromast, Erasmusbrug and De Hef bridge in the distance.
