• Visit on a Tuesday, Friday or Saturday for the biggest market in Groningen. 180 stalls gather at the Grote Markt, Vismarkt, and A-kerkhof to sell fresh and local food, plus extra surprises.
• What about organic? A special market is held on the first Sunday of every month for a special organic farmers market, though it's a lot smaller than the usual market it’s still a nice one to visit.
• After shopping, make sure you check out the Grote Markt. The highlight to see here is the unmissable Martini Tower (“Martinitoren”) that towers above the whole market square. From the top of the tower, you’ll get the best views of the city.
