Have a look at these big bowling pins that are located on one of the busiest roads in Eindhoven.

Have you ever seen pins this big? The Flying Pins is a sculpture that was designed by the sculptors Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen and represents a bowling ball with ten flying pins. With the highest point being 8.5 metres and the ball having a diameter of 6.7 metres the sculpture is extremely impressive.

The artists were inspired when they saw a bowling alley in the street that the sculpture is located on. In the vision of the artists, the dynamics of the sinking bowling ball with the flying and sinking pins fit well with this busy point in the city. The cones are yellow because of the daffodils that brighten up the street every spring.
