**Cycle your way through the Hoge Veluwe National Park on a 33 km loop near Arnhem. **
Cycling in the Netherlands is one of the best things you can do here! Close to the city of Arnhem, this cycling route takes about 2-3 hours and is medium difficulty. Whether you’re a newbie or an experienced cyclist, Fietspad over de Hoge Veluwe is a trip worth doing.
What will you see on your cycling route? Hoge Veluwe National Park is definitely one of its highlights. With beautiful heathlands, deer, and unforgettable landscapes, this national park of the Netherlands is not one to be missed. But there’s a couple more surprises along the way...
- Cycle long, flat roads through the heathlands. Your journey through the Hoge Veluwe National Park takes you to some of the best landscapes in the area. Beautiful in the summer when flowers are in full bloom and otherworldly in the autumn.
- Beautiful bridges: a cycling route in the Netherlands wouldn’t be complete without a charming sight. The bridges near the lake of Ijzeren Man are one of the best parts of this route. Picturesque and only a little bit bumpy!
- A statue in the sand. As you're cycling across the sandy landscapes of Otterlo, you’ll see a lone statue standing in the sand, overlooking all who pass by. Monument Generaal De Wet, dedicated to Christiaan de Wet, a Boer general and rebel leader. We don’t think it’s worth going out of your way to see the statue, but it’s an interesting sight to see while you’re on the cycling trip.
