Travel back to the 1950s in this museum full of vintage vibes and old radios. Discover how the radio has transformed over the years!

  • Enter into the museum and you’ll hear the sound of vintage music. These 400+ antique radios still work! Each machine has a story and there’s a few info panels to tell you the tale.
  • Electro Radio Nostalgie Museum displays plenty of radios, old and new. But there’s some interesting electrical appliances, record players, and tape recorders too to finish off the collection.
  • How did this museum come to be? Henk de Groot has been collecting radios for years and started the museum with his wife. It’s nice to visit a family-made museum for a change, right?

  • Electro Radio Nostalgie Museum is just outside the city centre, off the beaten track away from the tourist crowds. If you’re after a unique museum for a trip near Enschede, then you’ve definitely found it.
  • The museum is actually free to visit. It’s run by volunteers.
  • Info panels are mostly in Dutch. Ask the volunteers if you want more information or local tips. They’re a pretty friendly team.

  • By Train: 7 min walk from Hengelo Oost station. Stroptrein stops here.
  • By Bus: 7 min walk from Hengelo, Station Hengelo Oost. Bus 8 stops here.
