Go for a nighttime walk through the heathlands and woodlands in Europe’s biggest wet moorlands national park.
- This national park is one of the few in the country where you can walk through its beautiful landscapes at night. There are 7 different hiking and cycling trails to choose from, ranging from 2.5 km to 52.6 km. There are so many options for everyone - from beginners, families, to expert cyclists! Visit on the full moon for a guided walk around the national park (in Dutch, prebooking required).
- Dwingelderveld is a great location for a green vacation. The national park is surrounded by and contains many camping sites, hotels, holiday parks, restaurants and more. The main visitor centre of the park, Bezoekerscentrum Ruinen, is also worth a look for its cute butterfly garden in the summer.
- Full of beautiful heathlands, plus pine and oak forests, Nationaal Park Dwingelderveld was once used by the Celts as religious burial grounds. Escaping out into nature, getting lost in Drenthe, does feel pretty divine to this day. Along your hike, you’re sure to see sheep, horses, deer, birds, and so much more.
