**Do you wonder what it was like living in Utrecht in the beginning of the 20th century? **

Utrecht is a city with a lot of history, which you notice while walking its city centre. There is a lot of information available about the history of the city, but do you ever wonder what it was like to actually live there in a different time?

At the Dutch Museum of Working-Class Districts, or the Volksbuurtmuseum, you can experience what it was like to live in Utrecht in the 1920’s. The working-class districts are small neighbourhoods where the workers from the lower-class used to live, which weren’t always in the best conditions. The houses in these areas were always very small and big families would share these small living spaces.

The museum shows the life of the regular citizen through elements such as an interactive alleyway, animations, an old bakery, interviews with people that lived in these neighbourhoods and smells that were there in that time.
